This JEC tour will take you to the beautiful Mediterranean island of Mallorca (Majorca) in September 2017 to coincide with the island’s classic car week. The tour will feature a whole week on the island allowing you to participate in a number of events and road runs.
Combine one of the most beautiful mediterranean holiday islands with the Mallorca (Majorca) Classic Car Week. Explore the fantastic mountain roads on the north and west coast of the island with glorious sea views in the morning. Follow this with an afternoon visit to the historic and vibrant city of Palma with its unique restaurants and millionaires’ yachts. Then perhaps sample some fresh local tapas in the evening. Majorca’s diversity is perfect for exploring in your Jaguar.
Our itinerary will also provide the opportunity to participate in the 2nd Mallorca Classic Car Week. This new event brings local classic car owners and visitors to the island together in events based around the port of Palma and the world class super yacht marina at Port Adriano. Everyone is assured of a warm and friendly welcome from Majorcan residents who also love their classic cars.
The opportunity to join this unique tour will be available to a maximum of 20 cars, ensuring that you are able to enjoy the best of this exclusive driving holiday.
Tuesday 12th September
Check-in at the Brittany Ferries terminal in Portsmouth at 15:15hrs for the 17:15hrs departure to Santander. A welcome dinner has been organised on board for the evening.
Wednesday 13th September
We arrive in Santander at 18:15hrs. After disembarking the ship and leaving the seaside city of Santander behind, we head south east towards the mountains of the Pyrenees for our first night’s stop at the 4 star Parador Argomaniz, located in the small town of Alva close to the Basque city of Vitoria and the wine region of Rioja. After checking in for the evening, a 3 course dinner will be provided in the hotel restaurant. Driving distance: Approximate 105 miles
Thursday 14th September
Following breakfast it is time to head for the mediterranean sea and the Catalonian city of Barcelona. After checking in at the ferry port there will be time to take a stroll along Las Ramblas’ for an early evening meal or some last minute shopping before the evening ferry departs for Palma de Mallorca. Driving distance: Approximate 265 miles
Friday 15th September
The ferry arrives in Palma de Mallorca at 07:00hrs. After departing the port, it is just a short drive to Portal Nous to check-in to the Four Star Lindner Golf & Wellness Resort. Prior to check-in a welcome buffet breakfast has been arranged in the hotel’s poolside restaurant.
Saturday 16th September
As you are on holiday this is a free day to relax and make yourself at home in Majorca.
An evening welcome BBQ has been arranged at the hotel, where we will be joined by local members of the Mallorca Classic Car Club (Club de Cotxes Classics Mallorca)
Sunday 17th September
A road run to Port de Soller, Andratx, and Deia has been arranged for today. This will provide a spectacular drive along the south west of the island. There are lots of ‘miradors’ along the way to stop at and take in the fantastic views across the mediterranean sea. The road run ends in Port de Soller which is a nice seaside town situated in one of Mallorca’s most beautiful horseshoe bays. Surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains, this town has magnificent mountain scenery, sea views and lots of nice beachside restaurants and bars.
In the evening why not visit the exclusive Puerto Portals for drinks and dinner, whilst taking in the multi-million pound yachts moored in the marina.
Monday 18th September
After a leisurely breakfast, there is a short drive to the seaside village of Port d’Andratx followed by a leisurely coastal drive back to the hotel via Paguera.
For the evening there is an optional visit to Palma, using the local bus, for a visit to some tapas bars and the famous Abaco cocktail bar.
Tuesday 19th September
Today there is a planned a visit to one of the nicest villages in Majorca: Valldemossa, located in the Tramuntana Mountains, with charming little streets filled with cafes, galleries and gift shops. For lunch there’s an option to visit the spectacular Port of Valdemossa.
Wednesday 20th September
This is a free day to relax around the pool or visit the beach before the start of the 2017 Mallorca Classic Car Week, which begins with an welcome evening barbecue at the Boat House bar and restaurant in Palma.
Thursday 21st September
The Mallorca Classic Car Week official road run visits the very north of the island, Cap de Formentor. It also travels to one of the most westerly points, Cala de Sa Calobra. These are some of the most spectacular roads on the island and all cars will be invited to take part. Approximate mileage 140 miles
Friday 22nd September
The Mallorca Classic Car Week continues with option road runs to different parts of the island and the day concludes at the super yacht marina at Port Adriano, with a Coincours d’Elegance competition alongside cocktails and a barbecue.
Saturday 23rd September
The Mallorca Classic Car Week hosts a variety of events throughout the day at the super yacht marina at Port Adriano.
Sunday 24th September
The 2017 Mallorca Classic Car Week ends with prize giving and a closing ceremony at Port Adriano.
Monday 25th September
Following a week of combining driving around Mallorca with relaxing around the hotel pool, it is time to head back to Barcelona on the overnight ferry departing Palma de Mallorca at 23.30hrs.
Tuesday 26th September
We arrive in the port of Barcelona in the morning, before heading towards the foothills of the Catalan Pyrenees for our penultimate overnight stay at the four star Parador Arties. After checking in for the evening, a 3 course dinner will be provided in the Parador’s restaurant. Driving distance: Approximate 191 miles
Wednesday 27th September
Another scenic drive awaits before it is time to relax for the final evening and dinner at the spectacular four star Parador Sos Del Rey Catolico. Driving Distance: Approximate 170 miles
Thursday 28th September
The last drive of the tour takes us back to the northern Spanish coast and the port of Bilbao to check-in at the Brittany Ferries terminal at 13:30hrs for the 15:30hrs departure back to Portsmouth. Driving Distance: Approximate 54 miles
Friday 29th September
The tour finishes as we arrive at the Brittany Ferries terminal in Portsmouth at 14:15hrs and begin our journeys home.
