European Le Mans Series

The European Le Mans Series sees the cars that race in the Le Mans 24 Hours return to compete in a series of races across various circuits in Europe. With races at circuits such as Donington, Zolder, Paul Ricard, Brno & the Algarve in 2012 there will always plenty of action to be seen.

Launched in 2004, the European Le Mans Series (and its brother the American Le Mans Series) brings the competition of the Le Mans 24 Hours to different circuits, each with very different challenges.

With these endurance races based on a 6 Hours race format the European Le Mans Series has now become a development programme for team wishing to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours. In 2012 the European Le Mans Series will feature LMP2 prototypes, Formula Le Mans cars and then 3 classes of GT cars, including GTE Pro, GTE AM and the new category of GTC, that offers new teams the chance to compete at a cost capped level.
At the end of the season 6 invitations to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours 2013 will be offered to the winners of the relevant categories.
