Killarney, County Kerry
County Kerry boasts some of Ireland’s most dramatic scenery. The combination of rugged coastlines, imposing mountains and picturesque villages make this area perfect for exploring in your Porsche. Some of the best driving routes in Ireland will be on your doorstep with the Wild Atlantic Way leading you around the Dingle Peninsula, the Beara Way and the famous Ring of Kerry. The excellent 5-star Hotel Dunloe & Gardens will be our home throughout this great touring holiday.
Sunday 19th September
Depart Holyhead for Dublin at 08:55hrs (other routes and sailings are also available). After arriving in Dublin at midday, we drive south west through Kildare and towards the city of Limerick. Having bypassed the city, we continue via the picturesque village of Adare to our hotel over-looking the beautiful Gap of Dunloe, just outside the town of Killarney. A welcome barbecue has been arranged in the hotel grounds for the evening.
Monday 20th September
A circular road run has been arranged taking you out to the Irish speaking Dingle Peninsula. With magnificent cliffs and extensive beaches, the Dingle Peninsula provides some of the most beautiful scenery that Ireland has to offer. The northern coast of Dingle Peninsula is reached via the Connor pass out of Dingle town. This pass is the highest in Ireland and provides fantastic views on a clear day.
Tuesday 21st September
Today’s circular drive has been organised to take you South of Killarney to the Beara Peninsula. With possible stops in Kenmare & Glengarriff, as well as the unmatched scenery of the Healy Pass and Molls Gap, this should prove to be an exciting day.
Wednesday 22nd September
For those wishing to venture further in their car, then the famous Ring of Kerry awaits. Much more than a simple driving route, the Ring of Kerry has become one of Ireland’s most famous destinations. This 100-mile circular drive takes in the vistas of Valentia Island & the North Atlantic Ocean before returning inland across the National Park back to Killarney.
Thursday 23rd September
This could be a day to relax & enjoy the hotel’s facilities without your car. Horse riding, fishing, the swimming pool and spa treatments are all available on-site. Others may wish to explore the town of Killarney, venture across the Gap of Dunloe on horse and cart or play a round of golf. There is a lot to do in the area. A group dinner has been arranged at the hotel in the evening.
Friday 24th September
After breakfast we leave Killarney and return back to Dublin in time to catch the 14:50hrs service back to Holyhead. The tour ends as we dock in Holyhead around 18:10hrs.
